Sunday Brunch: Clean Strawberry and Vanilla French Toast
Calling all French toast lovers!
How yummy does a hot stack of vanilla French toast topped with fresh strawberries sound?
With my guilt-free recipe, you can have a restaurant quality breakfast ready in as little as 10 minutes, right at home!
V A N I L L A F R E N C H T O A S T
4 slices of whole grain sourdough bread
2 organic eggs
1/4 cup oat milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp ground cinnamon, plus more for topping
1 cup fresh strawberries, washed and sliced
organic pure maple syrup
D I R E C T I O N S
Combine eggs, oat milk, vanilla and cinnamon in a wide glass bowl and whisk until smooth
Coat a non-stick pan with grass-fed butter or coconut oil over medium-high heat
While the pan is heating, dip both sides of the bread in to the egg mixture using a fork, then place on the hot pan and sprinkle with additional cinnamon
Allow french toast to cook for 1-2 mins until golden brown, then it flip over, sprinkle with cinnamon and cook for an additional 1-2 mins. Repeat step with remaining slices of bread
Serve hot, top with sliced strawberries, a sprinkle of cinnamon, maple syrup and enjoy!
Serves 2 people — double recipe for extra pieces of French toast.
